Man denies 14 fraud offences in Magistrates’ Court
A man has been charged in Magistrates’ Court with a string of offences linked to having false credit or debit cards.
Ezzyie Bean, 23, denied a total of 14 offences when he appeared in court yesterday, but waived his right to have them read aloud.
The offences, which occurred on September 1 and 21, include dishonestly obtaining $1,520 from HSBC.
He also denied knowingly having seven false credit or debits cards and attempting to use false MarketPlace or Rubis gift cards “with the intention of inducing HSBC to accept it as a genuine debit card and by reason of so, accepting it to do some act on their own or another person’s prejudice”.
Magistrate Maria Sofianos adjourned the case to November 24 and released Mr Bean, from Warwick, on $8,000 bail with a surety until that time.
Ms Sofianos also ordered Mr Bean to not use any HSBC ATMs, and attend the Hamilton Police Station twice a week.
