Third man charged with fatal shooting in beauty shop
A third person has been charged with the fatal shooting of a woman inside a Hamilton beauty shop in September.
TNN reported that Sonje Wales-Smith, 19, was accused of murdering Janae Minors when he appeared in Magistrates’ Court yesterday.
Mr Wales-Smith, 19, was also charged with using a firearm to commit an indictable offence, namely murder.
He allegedly committed the offences in Pembroke on September 16, while being concerned with others.
Mr Wales-Smith, from Southampton, was not required to plea as the case must be heard in the Supreme Court.
Senior magistrate Maxanne Anderson adjourned the matter to the December arraignments and remanded Mr Smith-Wales in custody until that time.
Kinte York and Najee Simons, both 24, were also charged in connection with the killing and using firearms when they appeared in court last month.
Mr York, from Devonshire, and Mr Simons, from Pembroke, were also remanded in custody until the December arraignments.
Ms Minors was fatally shot in her shop, Beauty Monster, near the corner of Court Street and Dundonald Street.
