Judge discharges jury in 2016 murder
The trial of a man accused of murdering his housemate ended early after the jury was discharged by the judge yesterday.
Puisne Judge Juan Wolffe found after legal arguments that there was a “high degree of need” to discharge the entire jury in the case of Davin Providence, who has denied murdering Jevon Daniels in 2016.
Mr Justice Wolffe thanked jurors for their service and discharged them before adjourning the case until April 6, 2026.
Mr Providence, from Sandys, has denied allegations that he killed Mr Daniels, who went missing in May 2016.
Mr Daniels’s body was found more than a month later near the Ireland Rangers football grounds in Sandys wrapped in construction sheeting and trash bags bound in blue tape.
