Two men fined for separate drug possession cases

Two men admitted separate drug-related offences in Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday.

Jevone Sealey, 50, pleaded guilty to possession of cannabis and the psychoactive drug THC.

The court heard that police on patrol along Harbour Road, Paget on May 31 were conducting stop-and-search checks when they stopped Sealey on his motorcycle.

A search of the motorist, from Warwick, revealed plantlike material and a twist bag.

Police confiscated the items, which were sent to a government analyst.

Tests confirmed the material as 7.2g of cannabis, while the twist bag contained a 3.35g THC gummy.

Sealey was later contacted by police and arrested for possession of drugs.

Magistrate Tyrone Chin fined him $300 for the cannabis and $350 for the gummy, both of which he ordered Sealey to pay that day.

Separately, Pablo Hendrickson, 42, pleaded guilty to possession of cannabis resin and possession of THC on April 14 in Hamilton Parish.

Senior magistrate Maxanne Anderson fined Hendrickson, from Warwick, $350 for each count and ordered him to pay by the end of the day.
