A drink-driver who stopped at a green light on Court Street has been banned from the roads for 18 months.

Aaron Famous, 32, admitted having care and control of a car while impaired by alcohol or a drug when he appeared in Magistrates’ Court yesterday.

The court heard that police questioned Famous after seeing him stationary at a green traffic light on February 12.

Famous, from Pembroke, denied he had been drinking alcohol but had trouble standing when he stepped out of the car.

In addition to the ban, Famous was fined $1,500 for the offence.
