A man who drove more than double the legal speed limit has been disqualified from driving for six months.

Malachi Moniz, 20, admitted speeding at 72km/h when he appeared in Magistrates’ Court on Monday.

He committed the offence at the junction of North Shore Road and Aubrey Road in Hamilton Parish on November 29, and had six points on his licence before his court appearance.

Magistrate Craig Attridge fined Moniz, from Devonshire, added seven additional points to his licence and banned him from the roads based on points accrued.
