Man who threw drink in cab given conditional discharge
A visitor who threw a drink inside a taxi after he thought the driver had sworn at his friend was given a conditional discharge.
Tyren Nicholson, 26, admitted causing $600 worth of damage to the taxi when he appeared in Magistrates’ Court yesterday.
The court heard that Nicholson chucked his drink at the taxi’s glass partition after he thought the driver had called his friend a “b***h” on Saturday.
Nicholson, from South Africa, is staying in Pembroke while on the island.
Magistrate Maria Sofianos sentenced Nicholson to a 30-day conditional discharge for the offence, on the condition that he pay $600 for the damage.
