Woman denies handling counterfeit money
A woman is accused of passing counterfeit money as real.
Anabel De La Cruz Martínez, 30, denied two offences of passing or tendering a $50 note that she “knew and believed to be a counterfeit” as genuine currency, when she appeared in Magistrates’ Court today.
Ms Martínez allegedly committed the offences in Pembroke on January 18 and January 21 and chose to keep the case in Magistrates’ Court.
Senior magistrate Maxanne Anderson adjourned the case to May 11 and released Ms Martínez, from Pembroke, on $5,000 bail with a surety until that time.
