Two drivers banned from roads

Two motorists were banned from the roads after admitting several traffic offences.

Kenyade McQueen, 24, admitted not having a valid driving licence, as well as riding an unlicensed and uninsured cycle, when he appeared in Magistrates’ Court yesterday.

McQueen, from Pembroke, committed the offences on Friday and already had 23 demerit points on his licence.

Senior magistrate Maxanne Anderson fined McQueen a total of $2,150 for the offences, added 11 points to his licence and disqualified him from driving all vehicles for 17 months.

Q’Shai Darrell, 25, pleaded guilty to driving an unlicensed car without insurance and speeding at 62km/h.

The Smith’s resident committed the speeding offence on March 12 and the other charges on January 24. He had four existing points on his licence.

Ms Anderson fined Darrell $2,850 for the offences, added ten points to his licence and banned him from driving for seven months.
