Visitor fined for having ammunition
A teenager found with a bullet in his wallet was fined $200 in Magistrates’ Court today.
Daniel Ventresca admitted having one .22 calibre rifle ammunition when he appeared.
The court heard that the 18-year-old, who lives in Point Pleasant, New Jersey, arrived on the island aboard the Independence of the Seas ship on Monday and that security staff found the bullet in his wallet a day later.
Mark Daniels, for Ventresca, said his client forgot that the bullet, which he kept as a souvenir after graduating high school, was in his wallet.
Ventresca apologised for the offence and magistrate Maria Sofianos ordered him to pay the $200 before leaving Bermuda.
