A Bermudian in the UK is expected to stand trial in December for allegedly strangling and beating a woman.

Gavaska Bascome, 31, pleaded not guilty to a strangulation charge when he appeared by video at Northampton Crown Court today.

Mr Bascome pleaded not guilty to two counts of assault by beating when he appeared in the Northampton Magistrates’ Court in June.

The charges were alleged to have happened on June 15 and 16 at a Coventry property in the West Midlands in England.

The case was adjourned until December 14 for trial and Mr Bascome was remanded in custody.
