A 60-year-old man has denied allegations that he sexually touched a young girl.

The Pembroke man pleaded not guilty in Magistrates’ Court yesterday to two counts of touching a child under the age of 14 with both offences allegedly taking place on August 11 this year.

Neither he nor the complainant can be identified for legal reasons.

Senior magistrate Maxanne Anderson released the defendant on $20,000 bail with a like surety with several conditions, including that he avoids all contact with the complainant, witnesses or any minor child and surrenders his travel documents.

The matter is expected to return to the court on September 20 to be mentioned.
