Man extradited to face charge over fatal road incident

A 30-year-old man stands accused of causing death by driving without due care and attention in a 2021 incident.

Zaire Jackson Burchall, who resides in Pembroke, is accused of having caused the death of Jahtino Richardson-Martin, who was a Dandy Town footballer, on November 3, 2021 on North Shore Road in Devonshire.

Mr Jackson, who was extradited from the UK to attend a hearing that took place in Magistrates’ Court today, was not required to enter a plea as the offence is indictable.

Mr Jackson Burchall also faced charges of driving the vehicle with no insurance or driver’s licence during the same incident.

He was released on $10,000 bail and must report to Hamilton Police Station twice a week.

He must also surrender his travel documents and remain in the jurisdiction, and wear an electronic monitoring device when one becomes available.

He is next to appear during arraignments session on November 2.
