Cup Match trio shortlisted

The cricketer who best exemplified sportsmanship and good behaviour on and off the pitch during this year’s Cup Match will bask in the limelight at Blue Water Angler’s Club tomorrow night, writes Colin Thompson.Nominees for this year’s Warrington (Soup) Zuill Memorial Cup Match Sportsmanship Award are Somerset’s Kevin Hurdle and St. George’s pair Fiqre Crockwell and Damali Bell.The trio were selected by a panel of judges that included former Cup Match players Allen Richardson, –Albert Steede and Cleon Scotland.Hurdle took five wickets for 38 in St. George’s first innings, Crockwell laid the foundation for St George’s two-wicket win with a fine half century, while colt Bell claimed a wicket and took two catches to cap a memorable debut.Tomorrow night’s awards ceremony is open to the public and gets underway at 7.30pm.
