Darrell handed five-year ban

Toronto Darrell found himself in hot waters again after being handed a five-year ban from an incident stemming from a match between his side, Willow Cuts, and Premier Division rivals St David’s.The game was played on July 8 at Lords, with Darrell being found guilty of breaching Article 2.4.1; Threat of assault on an Umpire or Match Referee, a level IV offence. This is his second level IV breach within 12 months, with his initial suspension being one year, leaving the Bermuda Cricket Board (BCB) with no choice but to suspend him for a further five years, becoming eligible to play on July 13 2018.Somerset captain Jekon Edness pled guilty to abusing cricket equipment or clothing, ground equipment or fixtures and fittings, a level I offence. The incident took place in the Knockout Cup semi-final game between Somerset and Bailey’s Bay on July 15, with Edness issued an official reprimand.Due to a change in the Twenty20 schedule, the dates on which the suspensions for Janeiro Tucker and Dion Stovell are to be lifted have changed. The suspensions are based on a specific number of matches, with Tucker being suspended for three matches and therefore is not eligible to play on Sunday July 22.Stovell was suspended for two 50 over matches and one Twenty20 game, therefore he is eligible to play on Sunday July 22 but not on Thursday July 26 in Twenty 20 action.
