PHC pick colts for Counties clash
Challengers PHC have included two colts and two guest players for their third round Western Counties match against holders Southampton Rangers at White Hill Field tomorrow.
Charles Trott, a left-arm swing bowler, and medium pacer Bancroft Haughton will make their debuts in a young PHC team that will be boosted by the inclusion of guest players Fiqre Crockwell of St. David's and Joshua Gilbert of Somerset.
“It's a tall order to take apart this Rangers team, but we're giving some of our younger guys the exposure and hopefully be able to make it to the next round,” said captain Cal Waldron.
“We have a game plan so we know what we're focusing on what we have to do. Hopefully we can stick to that and accomplish the end result of getting a victory.”
PHC will be without young spinner Delray Rawlins who is in the Caribbean representing the ICC Americas in the West Indies Under-19 Tournament in St. Kitts and Nevis.
Team: Cal Waldron (capt), Kevin Dill, Mark Smith, Kyree Furbert, Davin Dill, Ellsworth Bean, Charles Symons, Charles Trott (colt), Bancroft Haughton (colt), Fiqre Crockwell, Joshua Gilbert.
League matches resume this weekend after the Cup Match break, with leaders St David's hoping to continue as the only unbeaten team.

Third and fourth-place teams Cleveland and Willow Cuts, both within three points of Rangers, will also be looking to stay in the title race with just two matches remaining after Sunday's fixtures.
Cleveland host PHC at Wellington Oval while Cuts host Western Stars at White Hill Field. Mid-table teams Bailey's Bay and St. George's meet at Sea Breeze Oval where the defending champions are hoping to keep alive their slim title hopes.
In the other match Devonshire Rec play Somerset Bridge at the Rec.
