Registration opens for youth players
The Bermuda Cricket Board has opened registration for players ahead of the start of youth leagues next month.
The age groups are: 8-and-under (born on or after September 1 2007), 11-and-under (born on or after September 1 2004), 14-and-under (born on or after September 1 2001) and the BF&M Development League for Under-17 players and second team players (no age limits).
Player registration form can be downloaded from www.cricket.bm under forms and the fee per player is $20. Clubs or schools are urged to collect the fees and registration forms from players and return them to the BCB office. Players have to be registered in order to play.
The first game for the Tokio Millennium Re 8-and-under League (Saturdays 9.30 to 11.30 at the National Sports Centre) is scheduled for April 9.
The Hiscox 11-and-under League on Wednesdays or Fridays is scheduled for Wednesday, April 13, while the Bank of Bermuda Foundation 14-and-under League will start on April 16, playing 35 over matches on Saturdays starting at 9am.
The BF&M Under-17 Development League will play 40 over matches on Saturday afternoons starting on April 23.
The All-Star games and tournament dates at the National Sports Centre North Field are as follows:
• Hiscox 11&U Skills and Drills Competition — Saturday, June 4
• Hiscox 11&U Celebrity Cricket Festival — Saturday, June 4
• Tokio Re 8&U last round of league matches and Prize Presentation — Saturday, June 25
• Hiscox U-11 League All Star game — Saturday, June 11
• Bank of Bermuda Foundation 14&U League All-Star game — Saturday, June 11
• BF&M U-17 All Star game, to be confirmed
The team registration deadline is March 24 while the player registration deadline is prior to the first game. Players must be registered with the BCB in order to get a league shirt.
