Delray Rawlins takes six wickets as Bailey’s Bay progress to semi-finals
Devonshire Rec (Devonshire won toss): Bailey’s Bay beat Devonshire by seven wickets
Bermuda captain Delray Rawlins took six wickets as 50 Overs league champions Bailey’s Bay made serene progress into the Knockout Cup semi-finals.
Rawlins’ six wickets came for just 28 runs in his nine overs as Bailey’s Bay restricted Devonshire Rec, who won the toss and chose to bat, to just 87 runs in 21 overs.
Only Rec’s Rudell Pitcher made it into double figures with a decent score of 36 from 33 deliveries before he was caught by Azende Furbert off the bowling of Rodney Trott.
Rawlins did not need much help from any of his fielders in capturing his six wickets, clean bowling captain Dion Ball, Allan Butterfield and Shaquille Pitcher. Ankoma Cannonier and Chris Daley were captured leg before with the final wicket of Llineiko Millet falling after he was caught by Jarryd Richardson.
Macquille Walker also chipped in for Bay with a couple of wickets.
It took Bay just 11.2 overs to reach their target with opener Richardson playing well for 35, off just 32 deliveries, before he was caught by Millet off the bowling of Ball.
Coolidge Durham (9) and Furbert (6) both fell relatively cheaply to leave Rawlins and Michael Agard to steer Bay home with the minimum of fuss
