The legacy of Sam Paynter, the oldest living Cup Match player, will continue this year when Isaiah O’Brien makes his debut in the Annual Classic.

Paynter, 96, played for St George’s and his great-grandson will play for the same side after being selected this week.

O’Brien has impressed in the Cup Match trials and his exploits playing for St David’s this year have ensured he is one of two colts in the challengers’ squad.
