A man and a woman were charged with gun-related crimes when they appeared in Magistrates' Court yesterday.Amid a heavy police presence Kofi Dill, 31, and Thayja Simons, 22, were brought to the packed court.Ms Simmons, of Sandys, was visibly crying as her lawyer Marc Daniels spoke with her.Senior Magistrate Archibald Warner charged them with handling a Rexio 38 revolver on December 22 in Pembroke.They were also charged with handling ammunition, in particular a .38 cartridge.Neither were required to enter a pleaMr Dill, of Pembroke, will be represented by Charles Richardson. If found guilty the minimum penalty for the offence is 12 years.They will appear in Magistrates' Court again on January 19.
