A 45-year-old man denied breaking into Daylesford Theatre in Hamilton and stealing cash.Stanley Davis appeared in Magistrates’ Court and pleaded not guilty to entering the facility on the corner of Washington and Dundonald Streets on June 27 and taking $450 cash and a cash drawer worth $200.He also denied entering 65 Dundonald Street as a trespasser on February 10 and stealing coins worth $1.50.Mr Davis, whose lawyer said he was a self-confessed drug addict, opted to stand trial in Magistrates’ Court for the offences, as well as for a charge of breaching the terms of his probation.Senior Magistrate Archibald Warner remanded him in custody until his next court appearance on August 8.
