Police are investigating a firearms inicident in Sandys.A Police spokesman said this afternoon: "Around 1:30am on Saturday, October 27, police officers responded to reports of gun shots in the Greenfield Lane, Long Bay Lane Sandys area."Forensic evidence found at the scene confirmed that a firearm was discharged in that area; however there were no reported injuries."The area was secured and an active investigation has commenced into this confirmed firearm incident."It is the second firearms incident within a few days in Sandys.On Thursday gunshots were also fired in the area of Somerset Road and Ledgelets Lane around 12.15am.Detectives are appealing for witnesses or anyone that may have seen or heard persons acting suspiciously in the area of Greenfield Lane and Long Bay Lane in Sandys around the time of this incident to contact the main police telephone number on 295-0011 or the independent and confidential Crime Stoppers hotline on 800-8477.
