Police warn the public following spate of burglaries

Police are asking the public to be increasingly vigilant about suspicious activity and individuals after a recent string of burglaries.

A police spokesman reminded the public to always make sure your doors and windows are locked when leaving home, even if just briefly.

“We also continue to recommend that all residents secure their valuables out of sight, record serial numbers and details of all personal items as well as photograph their possessions — in particular electronic equipment and jewellery — so that if they are stolen and later recovered, there is an accurate way of identifying them,” the spokesman said.

Any suspicious activity should be reported as soon as possible by contacting the nearest police station or calling the main police number at 295-0011.
