A man is in hospital with unspecified injures after being shot in Jones’ Village, Warwick shortly after 9.30pm last night.Police are also investigating reported gunfire in Curving Avenue, Pembroke which occurred minutes before the Warwick shooting.More than a dozen Police officers descended on the Khyber Pass neighbourhood but there was little information that was provided beyond the man being hurt.A pit bull was understood to have been shot during the incident and a dog warden was called the scene.Superintendent Darrin Simons said the Khyber Heights Lane shooting occurred just ten minutes after a shooting at Curving Avenue.“An individual was injured and, possibly a dog,” said Supt Simons of the Khyber Heights shooting. No one was reported injured in the Curving Avenue incident.Area MP Marc Bean was at the scene shortly after the police arrived.Mr Bean said he rushed to the scene as soon as he was informed. He spent a few minutes talking to some of his constituents before heading to the hospital to see the victim.“There’s no words a politician could say that’s going to erase gun violence and crime especially fratricidal violence,” he told The Royal Gazette.“So I’m not here to make the situation political because its goes way beyond politics and it goes to the heart of the culture of the people and the way we think and the way we relate to one another.“This is the second shooting in this very area in the last two months. And so it is obviously escalating, and the peace and security of the neighbourhood is being compromised.“I hope those who have information cooperate with the Police and I hope and pray for the well-being who was shot.”Residents said they heard three to five shots and saw two men on a motorcycle speeding away from the scene.
