A 28-year-old man is in intensive care in hospital after being shot at Hamilton Parish Workman’s Club last night.

The victim suffered apparent gunshot wounds in the incident at about 9.50pm, according to police. At 1.30pm today, he was said to be in a stable condition at the King Edward VII Memorial Hospital.

Police are processing the scene and an investigation into this incident has begun. Witnesses or anyone with information should telephone Acting Inspector Jason Smith on 717-0864.
