A man and his accomplice stole cash from Belvin’s Variety in Smith’s yesterday.

A police spokesman said officers received a report of a robbery at the Middle Road store at about 5pm.

“It appears that a male walked into the store and stole money out of the cash register,” the spokesman said.

“He then left on a waiting motorcycle ridden by a male accomplice. It is believed that the suspects travelled in a westerly direction on Middle Road.

“No one was injured and it appears that no weapon was brandished.”

Police are urging anyone who may have witnessed the incident, or anyone who may have any information, to contact police at 295-0011.
