Police remind people over Covid restrictions

Police are reminding people that Covid restrictions end on Tuesday

Police today reminded people that changes to Covid-19 restrictions come into place at 5am on Tuesday following reports of breaches of regulations.

A police spokesman said: :The Bermuda Police Service has been receiving reports of individuals on beaches at public parks and generally out and about for reasons not in keeping with the current stay at home and closure restrictions.

“The BPS reminds the public the changes to the regulations announced at last evening’s government Covid press conference, do not come into effect until 5:00 a.m. on Tuesday, April 20.

“As such the current stay at home regulations as well as the closure of parks, beaches, playgrounds and the railway trail, remain in effect.

“You are still only allowed to exercise for one hour within one kilometer of your residence and no more than two people together. Mixing of households is still not allowed.”

The spokesman emphasised: “Again, the stay at home order remains in effect. The changes to these regulations do not come into effect, until 5am on Tuesday, April 20.”
