Crash driver arrested on suspicion of impaired driving

A woman injured in a crash in Devonshire yesterday was arrested on suspicion of impaired driving.

A police spokesman said the woman, a 37-year-old from Pembroke, was hurt when her car struck a utility pole on Middle Road near the junction with Montpelier Road at around noon.

She was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital for injuries that were not considered life-threatening.

The spokesman added: “She was later arrested on suspicion of impaired driving and released on police bail, pending further inquiries.

“Traffic was diverted for approximately two hours while the scene was processed.”
