Men suffer stab wounds after altercation following road crash

Police have launched an investigation after two men suffered stabs wounds following a suspected traffic collision last night.

The incident happened near John Smith’s Bay in Smith’s Parish just after 6pm.

According to a police spokesman, the incident left both men, aged 56 and 38, in hospital suffering from stab wounds.

“Upon arrival, officers found the 58-year-old in an unresponsive state,” the spokesman said.

“Both men were attended to at the scene by medical personnel before being transported via ambulance to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital.

“They were both attended for their injuries, which are not considered life-threatening.

“Reports are the men were involved in a road traffic collision shortly before they became involved in an altercation.”

The roadway near John Smith’s Bay was cordoned off for about 90 minutes and traffic diverted while the scene was forensically processed.

Police are asking anyone with information on this matter to call 211, or the main police number, 295-0011. Alternatively, witnesses may contact an officer they know.
