The Bermuda Police Service is looking into complaints about the sale of unusable phones on the island.

A spokeswoman said that the buyers discovered after purchase that the phones cannot be activated with local carriers.

She added: “We are appealing to anyone, who may have recently purchased a mobile phone, in particular, Apple devices and have not been able to activate the device, due to it being blocked by a US mobile phone carrier, to contact Sergeant Joanne Raposo of the Criminal Investigation Unit at 247-1360, 717-2421 or jraposo@bps.bm”
