Police have called for public assistance after several shops in a Hamilton mall were targeted over the weekend.

A police spokesman said that officers were called to the Walker Arcade on Reid Street at about 9am on Saturday.

They discovered that the Arcade Barbershop, Qui-ja Fabrics and Good Look Nails all had their glass front doors smashed and were ransacked.

Later inquiries found that the clothing store Tabs had also been burgled.

It is unknown what was stolen from the shops.

Anyone with information on the break-ins is urged to call Detective Constable Ian Taitt on 247-1744 or e-mail itaitt@bps.bm.

Other members of the Criminal Investigation Department can also be contacted through the same phone number.

Alternatively, witnesses can also use the BPS Community Reporting Portal, report to a police officer that you know and trust, or call the confidential Crime Stoppers hotline at 800-8477.

Hamilton business owners are asked to check CCTV cameras for any suspicious people or activity between 9pm on Friday and 8am on Saturday.
