A teenage motorist who led police on a chase last night was riding a stolen bike.

A spokesman for the Bermuda Police Service said that before 8pm, officers on Glebe Road followed the rider after noticing that the vehicle’s rear light was defective.

The 19-year-old sped away from them, but abandoned his attempt to escape near Penhurst Park in Smith’s.

Checks of the bike after the man was arrested showed that it had been stolen last month and was fitted with a false licence plate.
