An armed robber escaped with cash in a raid at a North Shore petrol station on Wednesday, according to police.

The incident took place at about 6.50pm at the Terceira Service Station on North Shore Road in Smith’s.

Police released details of the incident last night. They said the suspect — a man dressed in black — entered the station and was able to grab money from a cash register.

They added: “He then exited the store and allegedly flashed what is believed to be a firearm as he made good his escape by boarding a motorcycle and riding west along North Shore Road.”

No further details were provided and an investigation is under way.

Anyone with information is asked to call Detective Constable Timothy Harvey on 717-0880 or by e-mail tharvey@bps.bm.
