Police report 13 arrests over the Remembrance Day weekend
Police arrested 13 people over the Remembrance Day holiday weekend, with no major incidents of antisocial behaviour reported.
A police spokesman said officers took part in proactive patrols across the island and responded to various calls for service over the long weekend.
“From 5pm Friday until 5am Tuesday, a total of 13 arrests were made for various offences,” the spokesman said.
“In addition, five motorists were arrested on suspicion of impaired driving, with several tickets for traffic infractions also issued.
“As we enter the festive season, the BPS once again reminds members of the public to socialise responsibly.
“Similarly, all motorists are urged to prioritise the safety of every road user by not operating a vehicle while intoxicated and by not speeding.”
