Police seize loaded gun from Pembroke home
A loaded firearm was seized by the police during a search of home in Pembroke last week.
Officers from the Bermuda Police Service’s Police Support and Gang Units seized the weapon on Thursday while executing a search warrant at a residence on Happy Valley Road.
While investigations into the matter are ongoing, the BPS said the “significant seizure” underscored its commitment to safeguard the community by targeting illegal firearms and disrupting gang-related activities.
Such efforts are vital in maintaining public safety, the BPS said.
Acting Detective Superintendent Jason Smith added: “This successful operation was the result of the continued support and co-operation of members of the community.
“This is the second time in recent days that the community, working with the BPS, has prevented a potentially fatal or life-threatening incident from occurring. Thank you.
“Let’s continue to build and strengthen this partnership, which is vital in ensuring the safety of our island home.”
Anyone with information on illegal firearms or criminal activity is urged to contact the police on 295-0011 or provide the information via the community reporting portal at portal.police.bm
