Police respond to report of firearm seen during dispute
A man was arrested after a firearm was reportedly brandished during an argument with a woman, police said.
The Bermuda Police Service noted that the incident happened at about 5pm on Sunday in the area of Spanish Point Park, Pembroke.
It explained that “police received a report that a male had brandished a firearm during a dispute with a female” and officers were sent to the scene.
A spokesman added: “Upon arrival, they were informed the suspect had left the location on a motorcycle, in the company of another male.
“A description was provided and a search for the suspect was immediately initiated.
“He was subsequently located on Court Street, Pembroke.”
The BPS said that the 23-year-old man tried to get away but was stopped after a short foot chase. He was then arrested and taken into custody.
“No firearm was recovered”, police added.
Officers continued to investigate the matter and anyone with information was asked to call the main police number, 295-0011.
