Police appeal for witnesses on eighth anniversary of murder

A renewed appeal was made by the Bermuda Police Service today for witnesses to the murder of Jahcari Francis, who was killed eight years ago.

Mr Francis, 20, was fatally shot while inside a residence on Upland Street, Devonshire, at about 10.40pm on July 19, 2017.

The BPS said: “We are particularly keen to hear from area residents who may have seen any suspicious individuals or vehicles in the area of Upland Street, Devonshire, prior to or after this crime was committed.

“Community involvement is still crucial to bringing the perpetrators of this murder to justice.”

They added that information received will be treated in the strictest confidence and noted that each detail could help to bring justice and closure to Mr Francis’s family and the community.

Anyone with information was encouraged to call the serious crime unit on 247-1739.

Information can also be shared through the BPS community reporting portal at portal.police.bm.

Anonymous tips can be provided via the independent and confidential Crime Stoppers Bermuda hotline, 800-8477, as well as the website, crimestoppers.bm.
