Man and teenager arrested over fatal Court Street shooting
Police have arrested a 16-year-old and a 21-year-old in connection with a daylight double murder on Court Street.
A police spokesman confirmed that the two male suspects were taken into custody over the weekend in connection with the fatal shooting of Natrae Eversley, 23, and Nakai Robinson, 18, along with the attempted murder of a third individual.
Acting Detective Superintendent Jason Smith, of the serious crime unit, thanked the public for their assistance with the investigation.
“Since the release of the images of the suspects, we have received a significant number of calls from members of the public,” he said.
“Information gathered from discussions with persons who contacted us is enabling us to make steady progress with this investigation.
“Those arrested have not been charged with any offence and the investigation remains ongoing.”
The detective added: “We continue to appeal for anyone with information on the murders of Mr Eversley, Mr Robinson and the attempted murder of another person to urgently make contact with us.”
Mr Eversley and Mr Robinson were fatally shot near the junction of Court Street and Dundonald Street at about 4.40pm on August 12. A third man sustained gunshot wounds.
Police said earlier that CCTV evidence showed the bike with the gunman coming from Ewing Street and on to Court Street, where the shooting took place.
It then made a U-turn and headed back to Ewing Street, up and down Tills Hill on to North Street before proceeding somewhere “in the area of Dutton Avenue” past the Transport Control Department.
Anyone with information about the incident was urged to call Acting Detective Chief Inspector Kenten Trott on 717-2345 or e-mail kenten.trott@bps.bm.
