Police announce third arrest linked to Janae Minors murder
A suspect has been arrested in connection with the murder of Janae Minors, who was shot in her store in Hamilton on September 16.
The 24-year-old man, from Pembroke, marks the third arrest linked to the case.
Ms Minors, a 37-year-old mother of two, was fired upon inside her business, Beauty Monster, off the car park beside the junction of Dundonald Street and Court Street at about 4.45pm.
Police said it appeared that a lone gunman walked into the shop.
Ms Minors was taken by ambulance to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital, but succumbed to her injuries.
A police spokesman said an investigation continues.
Officers thanked members of the public who have come forward to assist, but said they continued their appeal for information.
The spokesman urged people to “reach out and share with us what you know — no matter how insignificant you may think it to be”.
He added that anyone who was in the area of Court Street and Dundonald Street on the day of the attack, and who might have “any recollection of activity or any persons who may have seemed out of place or acting in a suspicious manner”, should contact Detective Chief Inspector Derricka Burns by calling 717-0921 or by e-mail at dburns@bps.bm.
The public can also call 211 or the main police number at 295-0011, or use the police community reporting portal online.
Other options are to speak with a familiar officer, or to provide information anonymously through the independent and confidential Crime Stopper number at 800-8477.
