Five men arrested on suspicion of drugs

Police carrying out a search warrant yesterday under the Misuse of Drugs Act at a Pembroke home arrested five men in connection with suspected cocaine.

Officers attended the residence at about 4.30pm and found a car parked near by with four men inside.

A spokesman said the occupants were informed of the police stop-and-search operation for weapons.

The vehicle was searched, uncovering what was suspected to be cocaine, while one of the men was found with a knife.

All four were arrested and taken into custody.

A fifth man was arrested after suspected cocaine was discovered in the residence where the warrant was executed.

The spokesman said both matters were under investigation, with all five expected to appear before the courts.
