Police have opened an investigation into a firearms incident that left two men with non-lethal injuries.

A police spokesman said officers were called to the Devil’s Hole area of Smith’s shortly before 8pm last night after receiving reports of multiple gunshots.

As officers made their way to the scene, staff at the King Edward VII Memorial Hospital contacted police to say that a man had arrived seeking treatment for a gunshot wound.

Shortly after, the hospital contacted them again to report that another man had arrived seeking treatment for a gunshot wound.

The injuries were deemed not to be life-threatening, and both men were treated and discharged.

Meanwhile, police located the scene of the incident — a residence on Club Road — and confirmed that a firearm had been discharged in the area.

Officers also confirmed that the men who sought treatment were wounded at the Club Road location.

Police urged anyone with information to contact Acting Detective Inspector Anneka Donawa of the Serious Crime Unit at 717-2250, of by e-mailing adonawa@bps.bm.

People can also call the independent and anonymous Crime Stoppers at 800-8477, use the community reporting portal, or talk to a police officer they trust.
