Two men robbed in Smith’s and Devonshire incidents
Police appealed for witnesses today after two men were robbed of jewellery in separate incidents this week.
A Bermuda Police Service spokesman said that on Tuesday a man making deliveries outside Speciality Inn restaurant was approached by three men travelling on two dark-coloured motorcycles, two on one vehicle and one on the other.
He added: “One suspect was described as tall and slim, dressed in black.
“He reportedly brandished a knife and demanded the victim hand over the neck chain he was wearing.
“The victim complied and the suspects then left the area.”
Officers responded to the incident at about 1pm, but received a report of another robbery on Devon Springs Road — less than a mile away from Speciality Inn — about 30 minutes later.
A second complainant claimed he was painting at a property when he was approached by three men travelling on two cycles.
The BPS spokesman said: “One suspect, described as tall, slim and wearing all black, snatched a gold chain from his neck before the suspects fled on their motorcycles.
“Based on the descriptions provided, police believe both robberies were carried out by the same suspects.”
Officers are investigating the two incidents.
Any witnesses or anyone who can help with the investigation should call Detective Inspector Tiffany Caisey, of the criminal investigations department, on 247-1744 or e-mail tcaisey@bps.bm.
