Burglary suspect at large after police make arrest

One man has been arrested after an attempted burglary at a jewellery store in Hamilton, police said.

Another suspect remained at large, a police spokesman said.

Officers were called to an attempted burglary at Crisson Jewellers on Front Street, Hamilton, at about 10.13am on Saturday.

Patrol officers spoke to the complainant as other officers pursued two people on a red motorcycle who fit the description of the suspects.

No one was injured and the would-be thieves left the store empty-handed.

The suspects, both men, were intercepted on Tribe Road No 5 in Warwick and then fled on foot.

One person was detained while the other escaped.

The police spokesman said inquiries were continuing.

Witnesses or those with information were encouraged to contact Detective Sergeant Kendy Swainson on 717-2355 or by e-mailing kswainson@bps.bm.
