Police plea over videos featuring minors

Police are asking the public for help identifying a woman involved in a recent incident involving a minor on a bus.

The incident was recorded and shared on social media, and officers urged the public to delete the videos and not to forward them farther.

A police spokesman said that, thanks to the help of the public, the BPS were able to make contact with the family of the minor and the individual who recorded the video clip, which was subsequently shared on social media.

Inspector Kenten Trott, of the vulnerable persons unit, said: “The fact that we were able to so quickly identify the persons involved in this incident and begin taking the necessary steps to have it addressed is thanks to the willingness of the public to get involved.

“Thank you for your courage and support.”

The spokesman said they are still trying to identify an adult female heard speaking to a girl in the video clip.

If you were travelling on the bus on which the incident occurred, or know who that individual is and have not yet reached out to the police, contact Inspector Trott on 717-2345 or via e-mail at kenten.trott@bps.bm.

Witnesses can also call the main police number, 295-0011, or 211.
