Mayho claims fifth straight win

Dominique Mayho won his fifth race in a row to clinch the Latter Rain Water Service Racing Series ‘A’ Class division championship on Sunday at the Hog Bay Park

The Junior Rider of the Year has controlled every race in all the races completed so far this season, beating Dexter Swan and Hans Hirschi, who came second and third respectively.

A total of 43 riders battled the one-mile track that included long, fast downhill sections combined with slippery uphill climbs that made for challenging racing conditions.

In the men’s ‘B’ class, returning top veteran rider Kent Richardson took line honours, followed by Daniel Oatley in second and Duncan Simons in third.

In the novice men’s class, Phil Hill was king of the hill this weekend, followed by Chris Roque and Gary Joel.

Karen Smith won the women’s class

In the women’s class, Karen Smith took top honours.

In the junior men’s class, Daniel Hetzel took the cheqered flag, followed by Robin Horsfield in second and Christian Oatley in third, while Mathew Oliveira won his fourth race in a row in the junior 12 and under division, with Alex Bordage in second and Alex Arouja finishing third.

Gabriella Arnold was first in the junior women’s class, followed by Tristan Narraway in second and Jessica Godfrey in third.

In the Junior 12 and under division Alyssa Rowse took top honours.

Racing continues on Sunday at Ferry Reach, starting at 8.45am.
