Duffy seventeenth in virtual race

Flora Duffy finished seventeenth in the opening race of the Z Pro June Invitational virtual cycling series yesterday.
Duffy picked up 14 points from the 29.8-kilometre race, which involved 30 women’s riders including top names such as Britain’s Jess Learmonth, Georgia Taylor-Brown, Lucy Charles-Barclay and Sophie Coldwell.
Two riders in the women’s field were declared the winners with Charles-Barclay and Teresa Adam, of Australia, sharing the honours (37 points). Jocelyn Mccauley, of the United States, was third (36 points).
Riders are chasing general classification over four the races.
The second outing, a 30.4km race, takes place next week.
