Bermuda made a fantastic start to the Caribbean Junior Cycling championships by winning three medals on day one.

Charlotte Millington produced the standout performance on Saturday, winning gold in the Junior Female Time-Trial, while team-mate Skye Ferguson secured bronze in the same event.

In the Juvenile Men’s event, Jacob Wright won a bronze medal after finishing third.

“These results highlight the incredible determination and talent of our junior riders,” said team manager and Bermuda Bicycle Association president Peter Dunne.

“We’re proud to see them competing against the region’s best and showing that Bermuda belongs at the top level.”

The championships, hosted this year in Barbados by the Caribbean Cycling Union, continue tomorrow with the road race, where the medal-winners will be joined by Andrew Thomas and Keon Stevens.
