A 27-year-old man died in a jet ski accident last night.The man was rushed to shore and taken by ambulance to the King Edward VII Memorial Hospital, but was pronounced dead on arrival by doctors.A police spokesman said emergency services received reports of an accident in the Morgan’s Point area of Southampton just after 7pm. The spokesman said: “It was reported that a 27-year-old male was injured and unconscious. Emergency medical services staff and on-duty coastguard personnel were informed.”The man was taken to Jews Bay and transferred to a waiting ambulance.The spokesman said no further information would be released until the next of kin was notified.• UPDATE: This story was amended after police issued a statement saying that the victim was aged 27, not 23 as first believed.
