Police identify two most recent road fatalities

A 30-year-old man who died on Friday when his motorcycle collided with a car on Middle Road in Warwick has been identified by police as Raheem Burgess.

Despite life-saving efforts, Mr Burgess was the year’s eleventh road fatality after he was seriously injured at about 9.15pm near Belmont Hills Drive.

The crash is under investigation, with witnesses asked to call Pc Gregory White, of the Roads Policing Unit, on 247-1788 or e-mailing gwhite@bps.bm.

Police also named 48-year-old Marvin Dyer as Bermuda’s tenth road fatality of the year.

He was seriously injured in a reported single-vehicle crash at about 6.15pm on June 20 after the motorcycle he was riding struck the kerb at the junction of Southside Road and Stocks Road in St George’s.

Mr Dyer was pronounced dead that evening at King Edward VII Memorial Hospital.

The crash is also under investigation, with witnesses or anyone with knowledge of the circumstances asked to call Pc Kevin Medeiros, of the Roads Policing Unit, on 247-1788 or e-mailing kmedeiros@bps.bm.

The public can also share information with a familiar police officer.
