Police name teenager who died in North Shore Road crash

Police have named a teenager who lost his life in a four-vehicle collision in Pembroke this month.

A spokesman for the Bermuda Police Service said that 19-year-old Zende Butterfield and the people riding two other motorcycles were involved in a crash with a car along North Shore Road, near Church Lane, on June 10.

Mr Butterfield was taken to King Edward VII Memorial Hospital after the incident and was pronounced dead two days later.

The other motorcyclists and a pillion passenger all sustained non life-threatening injuries and the driver and passenger of the car were not reportedly hurt in the collision.

Police offered condolences to Mr Butterfield’s loved ones and urged anyone with information on the incident to contact Pc Walter Jackson, of the Roads Policing Unit, on 247-1788 or wjackson@bps.bm if they have not already spoken to officers.

The spokesman added: “Tragically, there have been four people killed in collisions on Bermuda’s roads so far this year.”
